We have a tree just at the edge of the first terrace which has a strange yellow fruit, which as yet we have no idea what it is.
Can you help ? Below is a couple of photos, if you have any ideas please add a comment.

Could these be persimmons?
They are not persimmions (Sharon Fruit) , I know that as we do have a persimmion trees as well, please keep going. Its not a test we really haven’t worked it out yet.
If I guessed correctly, do I get a free trip to Portugal???
You certainly get a trip to Portugal! Not so sure on the free bit, although I am sure when the house is built we will certainly be offering you free accomadation π
Hi Ian, looks like Abiu to me! I came across it in Australia visiting my brother. You can tell if you cut one in half it should be a creamy white colour inside with 3-4 largish seeds if I recall correctly. We were scooping out the flesh with a spoon and eating it. Tastes a bit nutty caramelly. The guy told us its best chilled in the fridge first.
I’ll have a look next time the fruit is on the tree. At the moment that have all perished, but I will certainly check next crop. Thanks Ricky.
